Dumbbells and Drama

Courtyard by Marriott City Centre Pune held another baking class this Sunday and of course I was a part of it! For the longest time I thought I’d not be able to make it since I’ve not been keeping well, but meh. When it comes to passion, I do tend to go out of my way. So yes, here I was on a Sunday afternoon. And I don’t regret this one bit. This was probably my favorite session!

So what did I learn this time? CHRISTMAS SPECIALS! Yes, it’s that time of the year again and we’re OD’ing on plum cakes and rum. This time instead of sitting back and enjoying the cakes I thought I’d learn how to bake some….(I plan on getting into baking early next year. Shall let you know if and when I plan to go commercial 🙂 )

For those of you who couldn’t make it, here’s what you missed-

Plum Cake

Yule Log

Gingerbread Cookies

Let me know if you want the recipes…or you could always get in touch with Courtyard by Marriott City Centre,Pune for the same. Chef Gerwin is a great guy..he’s got me hooked onto his classes, plus he’s inspired me enough to seriously consider baking from home. Thanks Gerwin, in case I haven’t thanked you before this.

Why was this session my favorite? Because this-

Yes, we got to decorate our own little gingerbread houses! Right from sticking the cookies on the wooden frame to decorating with “snow” on the roofs, this was the highlight of the session. The kids seemed excited, and somewhere deep down I could connect with the childlike enthusiasm too 🙂

The next time Courtyard by Marriott City Centre Pune organizes a baking class, think twice before missing it.

Merry Christmas!
