Dumbbells and Drama

This season has been difficult in terms of health and fitness. It’s been quite a task performing with injuries and haphazard schedules. Added to this is the laziness that the winter season brings along. No one wants to leave the comfort of their beds on a cold winter morning at 6am. *sigh* It’s been quite painful to be honest.

Fitness routines have gone for a toss. Which is why eating clean was something I needed to focus on. Being a food blogger it doesn’t always work this way. So I do what I can- I eat healthy home-cooked meals at regular intervals and I snack healthy. Snacks usually include fruits and nuts.

I was pretty surprised when Gaia Good Health, a brand that has known me from Twitter, decided to send me samples of their health foods. Thanks a ton guys 🙂 This is what was waiting for me when I got home one evening-

gaia good health muesli

gaia good health oatmeal cookies and granola bars

gaia good health green tea

gaia good health gram snack

I of course was extremely excited when I saw the box of muesli ( those who know me from Twitter and Snapchat know my love for muesli) There was also a pack of oatmeal cookies, 2 granola bars, a pack of green tea and some baked gram.

As far as the muesli is concerned, I’d say TRY IT. There is no better way to explain this to be honest. Plus OD’ing on muesli is not unhealthy, so you have nothing to worry about.

The granola bars were a big hit with the younger sister who opened the pack to take one bite and ended up finishing the entire bar. I managed to get a few bites and yes, I was impressed.

The green tea is a little bitter-the brand claims it’s healthy without any added preservatives. I’m halfway through the pack. So far, so good. Never been a fan of green tea.So you could give me chocolate flavored green tea and I’d still call it punishment.

Oatmeal cookies were pretty neat, and make for a healthy snack. Not too great on taste, but I have learnt to believe that about all things healthy. My diet for the day includes 3 of these cookies 🙂

The baked gram snack had a strong, overwhelming flavour that I didn’t quite like.

So should you try this? I’d say it’s worth giving it a shot for 2 reasons-

  1. It FEELS healthy, you know what I mean? You don’t feel like you’re eating processed food. Which I think serves the purpose.
  2. It’s pretty affordable 🙂
