Do Not Let Them Make You Feel Guilty For Taking Out Time For Yourself

All those who’ve been with me on Instagram over the last 2 months know that I plan to focus on mental as well as physical fitness, starting this year. As promised, here I am with my two bits on mental health. I have so much to share with you, but I am not sure where to start from. Learning how to disconnect and tune into some ME-TIME is what I think works for starters, I plan to document my experience with mediation, yoga, social media and trolls, and a lot more later. Do feel free to write in if you want me to address certain topics, I’d be glad to do that. Before I start, I’d like to give some context to this article. I’ve been focusing a lot on disconnecting from the internet. Being a blogger and a digital content writer, this gets difficult. We live in  a world…

5 Minutes To A Happy Life

** This article has been written by Dimple Dhalwani Depression is more common than what you think it is, it’s just  the intensity that makes the difference. Whether it’s been a temporary phase of depression or a long term disease that you’ve been dealing with, let’s admit it, we have all had our low moments. Not convinced? Losing a job, death of a loved one, death of a pet, break ups, all of them make us experience depression in some form. Social rejection, peer pressure, any form of abuse, or even unequal treatment of siblings in childhood can lead on to depression. One thing to note here is that while we realise we are suffering, we do not wan to do anything about it. In fact there are times when we don’t want to accept it either! If we do wish to accept it, we make it an internal struggle and tell ourselves that…

Can’t Get Yourself To Exercise In This Heat? Let’s Try Making Workouts FUN.

Spring is here (okay 35 degrees isn’t exactly spring) , which means shredding shall start soon. For me it’s that time of the year when I hit the gym and pool for a 2 hour session 4 days a week. Going for a run isn’t fun anymore, and I am not the only one to say this. Even the gym rats will feel the heat as the temperatures sore and fatigue hits them bad. The thought of spending hours at the gym or running in this heat and dust is enough to put us off. Then how does one exercise, especially now that summer is here and toned bodies need to be flaunted? Allow me to help you with a few tips to get started. They might sound cliched AF, but they do have a success rate of 98%. Try these out and you know what I mean. SWIM With temperatures reaching 35…

Things I Learnt On My Solo Trip

In a surprising chain of events I landed up booking a week long vacation all by myself.  I wish I could explain a little more about what made me take this impulsive decision, but I genuinely don’t know what made me do it. I woke up one morning, decided I wanted to do something, and went ahead and booked my tickets. I guess somewhere in my subconscious mind it had to do with the fact that not many would be excited about travel plans, plus coordinating with time and plans was taking a toll on my mental peace. So here I was, making my way to another city all by myself. All that I knew was that I had a hostel to stay at, and I was sure I’d make friends along the way. Something about this was exciting. While I’ll soon share some stories with you from the trip,…

Kochi Muziris Biennale & Varkala: A perfect end to 2016

I tried to make the most of my two-week winter break in December, and ended the year with a vacation in Kerala. Essentially, my friend and I were visiting Kochi for the biennale, but after overcoming some rather poor planning and a constant state of indecision, we managed to get ourselves to Varkala – which is by far, one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. We spent 5 nights in Fort Kochi, primarily to get the feel of the biennale – where we could take it all in at our own pace and not rush through. The Kochi Muziris Biennale is an international art festival held every other year in Fort Kochi, and this time, it’s on for 108 days (starting December 2016). There are about 8 main venues for the biennale, though several cafés and local shops around Fort Kochi have collaborated with the festival as well.…

Co-working Spaces : Ministry of New, Mumbai

Co-working spaces have been a trend in the West for quite some time, and it’s great to see the trend making it’s way to India, albeit slowly. The idea of an open, barrier-less, communicative office culture has taken some time to seep into the traditional Indian business minds, but it’s safe to say that today in 2016 it is finally catching up in the Indian economic system too. Owing to the changing trends in the urban market, there has been a shift in attitude as far as work culture is concerned. Community building has taken center stage as people scatter to find like-minded matches. Work stations have become creative, energetic and vibrant. Creativity is being encouraged in all the fields, and places offering to nurture this need of creativity and communication are the go –to options for many of the working professionals these days. Freelancing and remote working have gained popularity over…

We Saw The Taj Mahal In 25 Minutes

“A teardrop on the cheek of eternity”, “The embodiment of all things pure”, “The sun and the moon shed tears from their eyes” are all phrases that describe the greatest symbol of love that the world has ever known-the Taj Mahal. Considered to be one of the most beautiful buildings in the world, lakhs of tourists come down to Agra to catch a once in a lifetime glimpse of the Taj Mahal. And we covered it in 25minutes. They say unplanned trips make for the best memories. What they don’t tell you is that “best memories” can be a best bad memory, or a best good memory. Either way, you’re stuck with this memory forever, and well, you learn to laugh along. A business trip to Delhi gave us a few hours in hand to do…well, nothing. And guess what yours truly, a mad(wo)man bitten by the travel bug decided…

Mineority Cafe and Bar

I have lost count of the number of places that have opened up in Koregaon Park-Kalyani Nagar in the last year. By the time I get down to trying out one place, there is another one begging for attention. In fact I visited Callow only this weekend, and I still haven’t eaten the deep dish pizza at Baked & Wired! It all gets overwhelming at times. Mineority is a new entrant in the area, and this time I made sure I checked out the place before it was too late (I also tend to lose interest in a place once it gets too old :/ ) And this is why I think you should totally spend a Sunday night with your favorite cocktail on the rooftop bar at Mineority- Ambiance PINTEREST BOARD GOALS! 5 minutes in this place and I wanted to kick off my heels and lay back and…
