Have You Been To Pune’s Only Open Air Spa?

We all deserve a break that leaves us feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the world. I usually plan these breaks around the weekend, especially Sunday, when I enjoy a long gym session and end it with a good sports massage or spa therapy. Those who know me well know my love for massages and retreats, and more often than not it is the only solution to half of the problems around me (yes, I cannot recommend a massage enough!)  One of my favorite things to do is wake up early on a Sunday (let’s say, 8:00am) read a book, head to the gym by 11:00 am, eat a nice lunch at 2:00 pm and then head to Hyatt Pune at 4:30pm for a swim and spa. Why Hyatt Pune? Because I’d be stupid to say no to an open air spa on the rooftop, a quiet, secluded, lush…

Oriental Fine Dining : Baan Tao, Hyatt Pune

Fine dining is not unique to Pune. In fact it’s easy to walk into a fine dining establishment at almost any locality now.  Be it grand hotels with intimidating décor or romantic spots hidden away from the buzzing city life, the opportunities to devour a gourmet dish are aplenty. One of the names that comes up while we think of fine dining is Baan Tao in Hyatt Pune.  Baan Tao, a fine dining restaurant serving oriental cuisine whips up some of the most delectable prawns in the city.  Inspired by the fresh  produce  of Japan, China & the Orient, you’ll love the authentic menu of traditional dimsums and sea food soups that this place has to offer. Baan Tao is set in the plush Hyatt Pune, located in one of the most luxurious localities in town. The restaurant sits on the second floor of the property and creates a modern, luxurious and…

Valentine’s Day Fix- Bake!

It’s Valentine’s weekend, and how can the concept of love be complete without food? Here’s a little something about me- display of emotions makes me uncomfortable, creeps me out even. I can’t do the movie-dinner dates thing, especially not on Valentines. I usually compensate for being a bad person by baking- which explains my presence at most of the baking events around the city. For those of you (like me) who do not know how to make this V-Day special for him, remember one thing- the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Having said that, let me see if I could help you whip up some sweet yummies for your special someone on this special weekend. All the recipes listed below are by Chef Yatik at Hyatt Pune Kalyani Nagar, who patiently taught us how to bake some very interesting desserts at the baking class…

Stews of the World- Hyatt, Pune

Rainy days and hearty dinners. Nothing warms the soul more than a comforting stew. Last weekend I headed over to Hyatt Pune for my share of monsoon fix. A rooftop table, a slight drizzle, and a table for two- Pune monsoons are here, and I am making the most of it! For those of you who do not know the difference between a stew and a soup- stews are thicker, concentrated and more flavorful than soups. Soups are served as a first course whereas stews could be a part of your main course. There’s a beautiful quote I read somewhere, and must share it with all of you- A stew is like a poem…a soup is like a short story. Stews, unlike soups, take a long time to cook. The meat is simmered for a long time, leaving the spices and herbs to add their flavor gently and…
