Planet Hollywood Goa- A Getaway For Two

It’s only been a month since we took this vacation, but it feels like a different lifetime. I find myself going back to these blue waters every now and then, thinking about those days spent at the pool, Jacuzzi and beach. The nostalgia hits hard, and each time it does, I am *this* close to making a weekend plan to Planet Hollywood Goa once again. Something about the property and experience left me feeling happy and free. This was one hell of  a therapeutic vacation, and I want you to experience it once in your lifetime at least. You’ll thank me later. Goa has been a favorite vacation spot since years, but with the increase in tourists pouring in at almost any given time of the year, our trips to Goa have reduced quite a bit. From once every 2 months, we’ve come down to maybe twice a year. Goa…

Breakfast in Goa : Sri, Vagator

A unique setting on the quiet hill side of Vagator, Goa, Sri comes as a highly recommended breakfast spot by many. We headed over early morning on one of our quarterly breaks to Goa, and found ourselves in a cosy spot in this restaurant, the only customers this early in the morning (10:00am is early in Goa :/) “I want a garden like this” Sri at first will remind you of a large colonial bungalow that has been converted to a commercial space. The large kitchen area and courtyard definitely seem to suggest so. Plants of all varieties, both local and exotic, adorn the place. Cats make their way to quiet corners while dogs lounge around in the sun, or sit beside you and make for great breakfast company. This popular spot boasts of a big shaded courtyard covered in thick green foliage that acts as a great camouflage and makes…

Thalassa, Goa

Hailing from an Army background, traveling has always been an integral part of my life. In fact, staying at one place for too long gets me restless.  There are times when I want to run away to another city and start afresh, there are times when I want to take a break and travel to any random part of the country. Yes, travel excites me, and I wish to indulge in it further. More of that later :) Traveling is not only about reaching new places- it’s about being introduced to a new way of living, new habits, new feelings, new experiences.   It’s a lot about self discovery. And it’s strangely exciting how it helps you develop as a person. There are so many people to meet, so many conversations to be had, so many new friends to be made and of course, so many new cuisines to be tried. I…

Goa Food Diaries- Cafe Chocolatti

Recently featured in an article on Storypick, Café Chocolatti immediately caught my attention, especially since I am a breakfast person. So of course I made it a point to stop by at this gorgeous joint at an ungodly hour (as per Goa standards)- 8:30am. Fun Fact- I am a pain to go holidaying with because I will have you out of bed at 7am. Sorry not sorry. Moving on- Café Chocolatti opens at 9:00am, but they were kind enough to let us in half an hour before time (though I have a feeling the hunger and excitement was pretty evident on our faces) Whatever the reason be, God shall bless them for their kindness. Snuggled into a tiny gate on the footpath on Candolim Road, Café Chocolatti is a vast green space that has a distinct European vibe. In fact the entire architecture is a mix of English and…
