Places To Visit In Cambodia

Thank you (once again) for the lovely response on my articles on Cambodia. Fortunately, I am not done yet. There is so much that we don’t know about this beautiful country, and I want to do my best to share whatever it is that I know, with you. Really hoping to inspire you to see this beautiful country for yourself. For details on itineraries and cost, check this out.  All of you who are wondering what to do in Siem Reap, Phnom Penh and Koh Rong, here’s a guide based on my experiences. https://www.instagram.com/p/BmcxV3kBQdp/?taken-by=dumbbellsndrama https://www.instagram.com/p/BlxlQUTgrQL/?taken-by=yogeshdiddee SIEM REAP When in Siem Reap, a visit to Angkor Wat is a must (duh) This is probably the only well known part of Cambodia, so you will find it filled with tourists. But what no one will tell you is how huge the place is, and how you cannot possibly finish the full tour…

How To Plan A Trip To Cambodia

I hope you had a great time seeing what MAADS Asia had to offer us in terms of stay on our trip to Cambodia. I am so thrilled to know that so many of you have shown interest in visiting this country.  I understand it isn’t a place that is well explored by many, and I will do my best to answer all your questions and help you plan a trip to Cambodia (before it is too late- I keep saying this because the place as we know it will change in the next 2-5 years, I can write it in my blood. What looks like South Goa in 2005 now will look like Marine Drive by 2022. The construction has already begun! It’s heartbreaking. Go, go before it is too late!) https://www.instagram.com/p/BmVEt49hqH6/?taken-by=dumbbellsndrama Coming back to the point- how does one get from India to Cambodia? Allow me to explain.…

All those Instagram updates from Cambodia have made one thing clear- I am in love with the country, and I am going to make it a point to share this wonderful place with you too. The next few updates on the blog would be related to travel in Cambodia, and seeing how so many of you reached out with questions about this trip, I am so happy to be writing all of this for you. Without further ado, here’s the first in the series- Traveling in Cambodia with Maads Asia Maads Asia offers properties all around Cambodia across memorable destinations, and helps plan itineraries to give you the best travel memories in this country. You can check out their website to know more about the different properties and locations.  Each individual hotel has a distinct personality, which we found out on our trip across Siem Reap, Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville.…

24 Hours With Four Points by Sheraton Whitefield, Bengaluru

Where does one place “business travel” Is it work, is it a vacation, or is it a bit of both?  The answer affects the way a hotel designs the experience for the guests, and it’s good to see how this has evolved from being “just another work trip” for an employee to an entire workation experience. Seeing this change in lifestyle and habits, hotel properties have started curating special experiences for their travelers, so much so that brands now focus on a hotel property exclusively for business travelers only. In this context, today we talk about Four Points by Sheraton Whitefield, Bengaluru, which has turned out to be a hot favorite among business travelers in the city. Those who follow me on Instagram already know that I spent a fabulous 24 hours at Four Points by Sheraton Whitefield, Bengaluru. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bj3-2CoH0a4/?taken-by=dumbbellsndrama For those who missed it, here’s what 24 hours…

Have You Been To Pune’s Only Open Air Spa?

We all deserve a break that leaves us feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the world. I usually plan these breaks around the weekend, especially Sunday, when I enjoy a long gym session and end it with a good sports massage or spa therapy. Those who know me well know my love for massages and retreats, and more often than not it is the only solution to half of the problems around me (yes, I cannot recommend a massage enough!)  One of my favorite things to do is wake up early on a Sunday (let’s say, 8:00am) read a book, head to the gym by 11:00 am, eat a nice lunch at 2:00 pm and then head to Hyatt Pune at 4:30pm for a swim and spa. Why Hyatt Pune? Because I’d be stupid to say no to an open air spa on the rooftop, a quiet, secluded, lush…

Being Fit On Vacation: A Collaboration with Phuket Fit

I recently got back from a fitness vacation and I still cannot get over how amazing it was. We’d do yoga while the sun rose, flip tyres and test our body strength on suspension cables during the day, and enjoy running into gorgeous sunsets to end the day, all thanks to Phuket Fit. When this collaboration opportunity came up, I didn’t need to think twice before agreeing to signing up for a fitness program while on vacation. I mean why not? Isn’t a vacation just another reason to take time off to care about your health? The result? We slayed it! I understand I haven’t been too much of a sharer on my social media recently (With blocking so many bot accounts on a daily basis to keeping a check on all the likes that I’ve been getting on the posts, it gets a little overwhelming at times) So once…

A Travel Disaster That Taught Us Life Lessons: Rome 2017

The other day I was reading an article on travel fails and it took me back to the time we almost missed our train in Rome. As I read, I connected with those bloggers as they spoke about frantically searching for their misplaced passport a few hours before they were scheduled for departure, or how they patiently waited for hours for their delayed flight. For those of you who I have not yet told this story to, my boyfriend and I took a Europe trip in 2017 and almost missed our train from Rome to Vienna. To save myself the trouble of repeating this story to friends again, I’m finally going to document it on my blog (something which I should have done long ago.) For all those who’ve already heard this, I can’t believe you didn’t get me to write this down earlier (would have saved you the boredom…

Ignoring The Warning Signs- How I allowed stress to take over my life

I’ve always been proud of my multi-tasking skills, and considered my ability to prioritize work as one of my strongest skills. While I enjoyed the confidence and the recognition my skills got me, I forgot to account for the fact that too much of something is harmful in the long run. Allow me to share with you a  personal story about how I let stress take over me. But it isn’t really that simple. To help you understand context, I need to rant a lot more than usual. Bear with me. I could have finished this off with a “Reasons why rest is important” but a story of a personal failure always leaves a better impact (so my Google Analytics tells me about my posts in 2017) Freelancing left me insecure.  Freelancing is tough for a bunch of reasons, all of which depend on one personality trait- discipline. Thankfully I…

Planet Hollywood Goa- A Getaway For Two

It’s only been a month since we took this vacation, but it feels like a different lifetime. I find myself going back to these blue waters every now and then, thinking about those days spent at the pool, Jacuzzi and beach. The nostalgia hits hard, and each time it does, I am *this* close to making a weekend plan to Planet Hollywood Goa once again. Something about the property and experience left me feeling happy and free. This was one hell of  a therapeutic vacation, and I want you to experience it once in your lifetime at least. You’ll thank me later. Goa has been a favorite vacation spot since years, but with the increase in tourists pouring in at almost any given time of the year, our trips to Goa have reduced quite a bit. From once every 2 months, we’ve come down to maybe twice a year. Goa…

Please Don’t Be A Gym Bully- A Request To Fellow Fitness Enthusiasts

“You must be into cardio” they ask me as I shake hands with my new gym acquaintances. “No, I’m weight training” I say, and am met with a somber nod and an occasional hmm. I’ve noticed those side glances they exchanged too. The conversation has abruptly ended, and I make my way towards the weight rack, conscious that every step I take is being intensely scrutinized. All that beast mode enthusiasm has disappeared too, and I suddenly find myself faced with a simple question- should I be doing this at all? Sounds super familiar, doesn’t it? Congratulations, you’ve been noticed by the gym bullies and you’re officially a part of the gym world. This feeling was quite common a few months ago, and of course I learnt to deal with it, but it’s the attitude of those gym-goers that irks me till date. Fitness is a positive community of people,…
