Dumbbells and Drama

It’s the season of al-fresco dining, it’s the season when beer and kebabs are enjoyed on candle-lit dinner dates  on rooftop terraces that overlook the city-lights. Level 12 at Double Tree by Hilton is all this and a lot more. Here’s a sneak peak :

AMBIANCE

I need 10 minutes to calm down and collect my thoughts every time I step into this rooftop restaurant on the 12th floor. When a strong wind hits you as soon as you walk out onto the terrace restaurant and try taking in the swimming pool, the view and the vibe of Level 12, I’m sure you’d be knocked out for some time too. I cannot get enough of this BEAUTIFUL restaurant, and I doubt any amount of words can justify the beauty of the ambiance. It’s been 3 days and I already miss the candlelit dinner date next to the swimming pool where I’d zone out for a couple of minutes every time I saw a plane taking off at the airport in the distance, or take a break in between dishes to stand at the clearing and look around to see the city lights blinking back at me, or simply lie back in my chair and take in the sound of the water and the music in the background. *phew*

FOOD

level 12 double tree by hilton golgappa
Golgappa without the paani- sounds boring, but you’d be surprised to see how tasty this actually is!
palak chaat level 12 double tree by hilton
This DIY palak leaf chaat was another surprise as I found myself going in for the 3rd leaf.
level 12 double tree by hilton chicken tikka
Chicken kebabs- there’s no way anyone’s going wrong with this one.
level 12 double tree by hilton seekh kebab
Oh the gorgeous mutton seekh kebab was gorgeous
level 12 double tree by hilton potato
This “thecha aloo” was a huge hit with all the tables as I saw plates and plates of this dish being served. I personally found it to be a little too spicy 🙁
level 12 double tree by hilton corn cheese
The corn cheese spinach rolls were my favorite! A little heavy on the stomach, I had to stop myself at 1 🙁
level 12 double tree by hilton daal
Dal Makhani – good stuff, but I expected it to be a lot richer than what it was.
level 12 double tree by hilton arbi
Imagine my surprise when I bite into this arbi prep and realise it’s awesome AF? Yeah.
level 12 double tree by hilton chicken
What’s a meal without any Butter chicken!
level 12 double tree by hilton mutton curry
The mutton curry was a little disappointing – the pepper and spices were so overpowering that the gravy was slightly bitter.

level 12 double tree by hilton kulfi
This kulfi is a humongous one which I obviously couldn’t finish with all that food. Such good stuff, it reminded me of North India :’)

Food coma strikes!

YAY OR NAY?

A definite yay, especially when you’re celebrating a special occasion. You could always request for a pick up and drop (charged separately) if you’re apprehensive about driving down to Chinchwad (though the roads in this side of town are pretty good, and the traffic isn’t that much of a hassle) Come here for the ambiance, a couple of drinks and the starters. I highly recommend this at least once if you’re a resident of Pune. The dining experience here will change things for you, calm you down and all that jazz(well, the ambiance does have an effect on you)True story.
