Dumbbells and Drama

It’s a lovely feeling to sit with Asa Ferreira while she passionately discusses her work over a cup of coffee. I met her 3 years ago when she joined my team, and look at her now, entrepreneur and all that jazz! I still remember our Maggi sessions post our work meetings where she’d excitedly listen to whatever information I managed to share with her. I see how far she’s come from when I met her first, and it still amazes me.

All of 23, she’s successfully heading a digital agency in Pune that recently celebrated it’s first anniversary earlier this year, and the glow on her face when you point this out says everything there is to know about what she feels about being an entrepreneur. Excerpts from the tête-à-tête –

What made you start out on your own?

I guess it was the possibility for endless personal progress which would eventually grow to be an organic extension of me. This is what I had in mind when I first started off, and I’m glad to know I’m proving myself to be right 🙂 I worked in a similar digital setup, found myself overflowing with ideas and wanted the bandwidth to handle things in a particular manner. I saw tremendous scope for creativity in how one can communicate, what company cultures can be instilled, what ideas can be pursued, how to empower others and so on.Plus, I get to push my comfort zone literally every day and that’s a fantastic opportunity.

What does a day in the life of such a young entrepreneur look like?

I start my day early, I guess that’s what makes all the difference. I wake up by 7am, work-out with a personal trainer for an hour or so, eat a heavy breakfast (kids, do not skip your breakfasts!) and leave my house to attend meetings all over town till around early evening. I then get back to my office and overlook the day’s work (I have a brilliant team that manages great without me) I work till around 9pm, then go out for a coffee or dinner date 🙂

3 words that describe you?

Resilient. Driven. FOODIE.

What does “love” mean to you?

Love means comfort. It is a happy place. It can be anything; a person, good food or even Netflix, love is happiness!

Have you ever given someone really bad advice because you secretly didn’t like them?

*I wish* NO I cannot do this.

One lesson you’ve learnt in the last year.

I think I’ve learnt to say “no” 🙂 It’s an extremely important learning, and I’m glad I finally learnt it.

If you could exchange your life with one celeb for a day, who would it be and why?

No one, I am happy with my life. I wouldn’t want to trade places. But if I must absolutely have to, then I would with someone who has abs or something man!

What’s your idea of a perfect vacation?

Anything is a perfect vacation if there is good food and no work and GREAT company.

What do you want to be remembered as?

I’d like people to remember me as someone who was fun to be around, someone who brought in good vibes and happiness when she entered. I want people to know me as someone who made them happy.
