Dumbbells and Drama

This year has been great so far, and as far as the fitness journey is concerned, if you follow me on Instagram you’ll must have realised how I’ve opted for lifting and gains earlier this year. I have gained a whole lot of muscle mass, and I have also moved up to a size 4 now, but I don’t have any regrets. My muscles are pumped, I’m sore 3 out of 7 days of the week, my glutes are beginning to pop, and life looks really good right now. As I said, no regrets 🙂

I have concentrated on eating clean, eating smart and working out. Lifting weights burns a lot of calories, so in order to keep the gains going I’m eating well too. So does that mean I do not have a hard core anymore? Absolutely not! In fact my core is stronger, and definitely more defined than what it was earlier this year. All this after eating twice the amount of food I was ingesting earlier this year, and with core workouts once a week. How does that work? Well, 2 things-

  1. Lifting engages the core muscles
  2. Simple core exercises once a week combined with lifting  (and eating clean) help work on the required muscles.

I’m sharing something I found on the internet, a simple piece that explains exactly what has worked for me, and why you must add these exercises to your routine. FJ0417708b-01a-min

Remember – no one knows how to get the form right when they start. Do not be afraid to fail, do not be afraid to ask for help. Once you get the hang of these exercises, the results are almost immediate.

If you prefer staying away from the gym, here are some other options you can consider-

  1. Skip
  2. Crunches
  3. Cycling
  4. Jogging

There are a whole lot of lifestyle changes that contribute to a healthy, fit body. A fit body is one which eats a healthy diet, enjoys a good workout and gets enough rest and sleep.

I shall continue sharing my diet, workout and other lifestyle tips on Instagram. Hit follow and stay tuned 🙂
